#PROJECT 64 EMULATOR UPGRADE#
People who upgrade their accounts have access to the beta builds of the emulator made since the last public version, plus all the ones we do in the future up until the next public version. The good news though is you may not have to wait to use all the latest developments! The current target (as of late 2008) is for the final release to be approximately early to mid 2010. What this means to you: So the bad news is that the next version of PJ64 will not be completely finished - so it won't be publicly released - for a long time. When it is released publicly, it will most likely be our last release, and of course we want to make it as good as we possibly can.
This is the same core team that developed v1.0-1.6 (zilmar, jabo and the others). Much of the emulator is being rewritten using the experience everyone has gained.

Please read 'Other Questions' at the bottom for more details - we'll summarise here: Background information: The next version of PJ64 is going to be a big update - in fact, we're working on the biggest set of changes since we started (before v1.0). These are people who are assisting with development in various ways, including monetary donations. How do I download Project64 version 1.7? The current 'beta' version (means: unfinished, work in progress, or v1.7.x) of the Pj64 emu software is only available to people with upgraded accounts on this site. A separate 圆4 version may be available from Project64 Team.

Project64 can play Nintendo 64 games on a computer reading ROM images, either dumped from the read-only memory of a Nintendo 64 cartridge or created directly on the computer as homebrew. Project64 uses a plugins system allowing third-party groups to use their own plugins to implement specific components.
